New Yorkers can’t wait any longer
New York – UPDATE: As of August 12, 2025, 63 organizations and campaigns across New York signed on to the following statement:
On July 30th, over 45 organizations and campaigns across New York released the following statement:
“New York is under attack from a Trump administration hellbent on making us sicker, hungrier, and less safe, all while making millionaires and billionaires even richer with unfair tax breaks. The Federal Budget Scam will make life harder: hospitals will close, health insurance premiums and utility bills will skyrocket, and public benefits — which we all contribute to — will be inaccessible to those who need them.
“State lawmakers must protect our communities by convening a special session to:
Fund our healthcare system and ensure New York is affordable for everyone by making the super-wealthy pay their fair share of taxes; and
Keep New Yorkers safe by passing the New York for All and Dignity Not Detention Acts.
New Yorkers can't wait any longer for lawmakers to fight back.”

President Trump and his MAGA supporters are in process of undermining the federal government as we know it. They are also damaging state governments like New York by their irresponsible budget cuts. New York needs a special session to respond to this situation.
