Progressive lawmakers renew calls for higher taxes on wealthiest New Yorkers

“How can you legislate with the needs of New Yorkers and whole communities that have been left behind due to historic institutional racism when you don't have enough money in your coffers to deal with those societal challenges?” said Rosemary Rivera, the executive director of the progressive Citizen Action of New York, during a rally at the Capitol late last week to advocate for the bills under the "Invest in Our New York" banner.
